Recycle ♻️ Upcycle

March 31, 2025

I have been wanting to do a refresh of my bedroom. New bedding , comforters , pillows. But as you know I care about the environment. I do not feel comfortable about just throwing away my comforters old as they might be. So I will be keeping them and getting duvet covers which my cousin just put me on to. Shout out to Shon 😘.

Apartment Style Gardening

March 6, 2025

So I don’t live in the spirit of fear but I am always mindful and discerning of when people say hey ….”try to buy some seeds” or “think about hydroponics in your home or apartment “. The world is a place and as I never walk in fear of not having anything ; whether food , clothing or shelter. If someone says think about something. I do…so I did …and I bought some seeds.

Now I don’t have a large apartment and I’m not doing the hydroponics thing cause that’s just too much work for ME. It may not be for you but just my opinion.

I have pretty decent sun coming in all day which helps in having my plants grow well. I’ll do a full post on all my plants 🌱 and how I care for them soon.

I took a trip to Home Depot and I bought some seeds because I want to have a mini garden in my home. With limited room I will make it work since I already have 15 plants and a tree 😩 😝in my living room.

The seeds I bought were 15 types. 2 different varieties of tomatoes 🍅, 3 different varieties of basil 🌿 , 2 varieties of carrots 🥕 , 2 different varieties of cantaloupes 🍈 . As you can see below I bought Zucchini, Thyme , Kale 🥬, Peppers 🌶️, Rosemary and Sage. Oh yes and honorable mention to the Lavender I bought because I want to have lavender in my bedroom. I think it will enhance the calming effects I like to achieve in there. I’m going to do my research on Pinterest on how to grow what I bought in my apartment. I already researched how to grow the lavender which I didn’t realize was challenging.

Right now I have my lavender seeds in the refrigerator for the next 3- 6 weeks because it needs to have cold/seed stratification done to it in order to help the seeds germinate. This will allow the break in dormancy . Lavender seeds have a harder exterior to break through . I’m not going to go into detail on the process. But if you check out my Pinterest board it should help you on your indoor gardening endeavors.

Until next time.

Plant Life

Feb 20, 2025

I have always liked plants, my grandma had plenty in her apartment when I was growing up. My mom had one or two but not as many as my grandma. As I’ve gotten older I have had the opportunity to grow my plant family 😂.

So right now I have 16 plants and a tree…yes I said a tree. All of my plants and tree were given to me, or I propagated. The only plant I bought was my aloe plant and that was on the verge of dying until I realized how much I was over watering it. I was at city hall paying a ticket …yeah long story and I can’t stand those people 😂😭😩. I saw the clerks aloe plant and it was beautiful. So I asked , she told me and now once a month I soak the soil of the aloe plant and now she’s THRIVING & beautiful.

So the takeaway , ask around , observe, read and research on how to take care of your plant babies. What’s the point of having them if you won’t allow them to flourish. Until next time.
